NHIA 2025 Recap: Insights, Innovation and Industry Connections

NHIA 2025 brought together the brightest minds and most dedicated professionals in the home infusion industry—and Prochant was thrilled to be in the thick of it. From memorable events to meaningful conversations, here’s a look at how we showed up and what we took away from this year’s conference.

We kicked things off in partnership with MedEdge to host an evening Game Night—a fun, informal networking event that gave attendees a chance to relax, connect and unwind. The following morning, our Coffee Chat provided a space to discuss top reimbursement challenges in the infusion revenue cycle. We wrapped things up with a meet and greet with the Beyond the Drip podcast co-hosts, where we connected face-to-face with some of the industry’s most influential voices.

The conference wasn’t just about fun—it was packed with insightful sessions and thought-provoking conversations that addressed the most exciting topics shaping the future of infusion. Here are the major themes we heard throughout the week:

AI Innovation on the Rise
AI was one of the most talked-about trends at NHIA, and for good reason. Across the expo floor and in breakout sessions, there was growing buzz around leveraging AI to streamline revenue cycle workflows, reduce manual effort and improve accuracy. Providers are clearly ready to embrace AI as a tool for smarter, faster decision-making.

System Transitions & Operational Pain Points
The sunsetting of legacy software systems was a recurring topic—particularly how these transitions are affecting billing, intake and A/R functions. Providers shared their challenges with adapting to new platforms, managing data migration and minimizing disruption to day-to-day operations. Therefore, there’s a growing need for infrastructure that not only supports these transitions but also improves long-term operational efficiency.

Policy & Reimbursement Reform
Regulatory reform was front and center at NHIA 2025. Sessions explored the potential redesign of the Medicare home infusion therapy benefit, upcoming changes in drug coverage and the evolving role of PBMs. The infusion industry is in a critical moment of transition, and providers are seeking clarity, advocacy and strategic guidance as they navigate the shifting reimbursement landscape.

Innovation & Technology in Practice
Beyond AI, there was a strong emphasis on practical innovation across all aspects of the infusion pharmacy. Attendees were eager to learn how digital tools can optimize clinical workflows, reduce human error and ensure high standards in sterile compounding environments. Technology isn’t just a buzzword—it’s becoming essential to enhancing patient outcomes and streamlining pharmacy operations.

Infusion Market Trends & Economics
Several sessions took a macro-level look at the industry, offering market forecasts and economic insights. Topics included the projected growth of the U.S. home infusion market, supply chain vulnerabilities and the rising demand for IV anti-infectives. These conversations helped providers understand how to future-proof their businesses amid ongoing economic pressures and evolving patient needs.

Sterile Compounding Standards & Best Practices
With new regulatory updates and a heightened focus on quality, sterile compounding took center stage. Preconference workshops and educational sessions delved into topics like environmental monitoring, risk mitigation and standardizing best practices. The message was clear: continuous improvement in safety and compliance is more important than ever for infusion pharmacies.

Leadership & Operational Strategy
C-suite leaders and pharmacy executives gathered for high-level conversations on how to lead through complexity. Key discussions focused on managing fragmentation, scaling operations, building resilient teams and aligning technology with business strategy. The infusion industry is evolving rapidly, and leadership teams are leaning into innovation and agility to stay competitive.

As we reflect on NHIA 2025, one thing is clear: the infusion industry is evolving rapidly, and the future is both exciting and demanding. At Prochant, we’re committed to helping infusion pharmacies stay ahead—through a blend of expert services, powerful technology and deep industry partnership.
